Large L & J G Stickley "fixed-back" rocking chair. A handsome form, large enough for a deep and tall back cushion. The term "fixed -back" refers to the angled back duplicating the second position in a Morris chair or Morris-rocker for a very comfortable ride. The back cushion was not yet finished, just temporary for the photograph. Choice of quality upholstery grade leather or Arts & Crafts replica fabric when available. Features excellent quarter sawed white oak grain, wide arms, four long graceful corbels supportng the arms front and back and pinned mortise and tenon construction.
